Operating Systems

Different customers have different needs for their applications. As such, we provide a wide variety of operating systems, which are all based on tried-and-trusted technology.

RedHat Enterprise - CentOS 4

CentOS is an Enterprise-class Linux Distribution derived from sources freely provided to the public by RedHat.  CentOS conforms fully with the upstream vendors redistribution policy and aims to be 100% binary compatible. (CentOS mainly changes packages to remove upstream vendor branding and artwork.)  CentOS is free and is available both on our Dedicated Servers and Virtual Private Servers.

All of our Linux techs have a RHCE (RedHat Certified Engineer) degree and have many years of industry experience. We fully support this operating system.

Windows Server 2003

Windows Server 2003 includes all the functionality customers expect from a mission-critical Windows server operating system, such as security, reliability, availability and scalability. Windows costs € 25 per month with our Dedicated Servers, and is included for free with our Virtual Private Servers.

All of our Windows techs have a MCSE or MCSA degree and have many years of industry experience. We fully support this operating system.

Debian

Debian is another major Linux distribution. Debian is enjoying huge popularity largely thanks to its "apt-get" utility, which is the most advanced package management utilities available today. Debian is free and is available with our Dedicated Servers, and also with our Virtual Private Servers by request.

Note that our management services are not included in combination with this operating system.

FreeBSD

FreeBSD is a direct descendent from UNIX and is highly popular in the open-source community. FreeBSD has a well-deserved reputation for being a fast, high-performance and extremely stable server. Although FreeBSD is not the same as linux, they have a lot in common, meaning it should be easy to pick up if you have prior experience with Linux. FreeBSD is free and is only available with our Dedicated Servers.

Note that our management services are not included in combination with this operating system.
